Boca y River sellaron tablas en el partido de ida de la final de la Copa Libertadores de América disputado en la Bombonera el domingo 11 de noviembre. El campeón, que se decidirá el sábado 24 en el Monumental, representará a Sudamérica en la Copa Mundial de Clubes de la FIFA EAU 2018.
Boca sufrió en una primera parte en la que River fue más rápido y dinámico en el ataque. Y aun así se fue en ventaja al descanso. Una de las claves fue la espléndida actuación del arquero Agustín Rossi que frustró de manera brillante a Gonzalo Pity Martínez y Rafael Santos Borré en la primera media hora.
El pronóstico empeoraba para los locales con la lesión de Cristian Pavón. Pero golpearon primero. Wanchope Ábila forzó a Franco Armani con un derechazo y llegó al balón despejado para anotar con la zurda el primero del partido (33').
River acalló enseguida la celebración xeneize con la internada de Lucas Pratto que superó a Rossi con un remate cruzado (36'). Pero antes del descanso apareció de cabeza Darío Benedetto, el sustituto de Pavón, para devolver la ventaja a los suyos.

Pero los millonarios lograron equilibrar el duelo tras un balón colgado al área de Pity Martínez que el defensor Carlos Izquierdoz cabeceó a su arco tratando de evitar que lo hiciera Pratto (60').
