EL RESUMEN DEL DÍA – Japón superó a España en la final de la Copa Mundial Femenina Sub-20 de la FIFA Francia 2018 y se coronó así campeona del mundo. Hace 15 días, en la fase de grupos, las jóvenes Nadeshiko habían caído por 1-0 frente a las españolas, pero los goles de Miyazawa, Takarada y Nagano dieron esta vez al combinado nipón el triunfo y, con él, su primer título mundialista.
Entretanto, en el primer partido de la jornada final, Inglaterra se adjudicó el tercer puesto del certamen. Georgia Stanway adelantó a un conjunto inglés que volvió a derrochar garra sobre el terreno de juego y Emelyne Laurent logró el tanto del empate que motivó que el duelo se decidiese desde el punto penal. Encuentro entre leyendas y voluntarios
Tras más de un mes de dedicación, sonrisas y buen humor, el programa de voluntariado llegó a su fin en Vannes. Con su entusiasmo y amabilidad, los voluntarios contribuyeron de forma esencial al éxito del certamen. Marcel Desailly, Marinette Pichon y Mikaël Silvestre visitaron el centro de voluntariado para dar las gracias a todos los participantes. Las tres leyendas conversaron con los voluntarios sobre el programa, respondieron preguntas, firmaron autógrafos y se fotografiaron con los presentes.
Primera tanda de penales
Ninguno de los partidos de la fase de eliminatorias anteriores al duelo por el tercer puesto había tenido que decidirse desde los once metros, puesto que los equipos vencedores habían logrado el triunfo dentro de los límites del tiempo reglamentario. Georgia Stanway y Emelyne Laurent marcaron los goles que supusieron el 1-1 con el que se llegó al término de los 90 minutos entre inglesas y francesas, por lo que el nombre del tercer clasificado tuvo que dilucidarse desde el punto penal [n.d.r.: el partido por el tercer puesto no tuvo prórroga en esta ocasión porque estaba programado para justo antes de la final]. La pena máxima que selló el decisivo 4-2 en la tanda fue obra de Georgia Allen, que se había incorporado al choque en calidad de suplente en el minuto 92, lo que deja claro que la seleccionadora inglesa tiene buena mano para los cambios.
Japón completa un triplete histórico
Tras conquistar el cetro mundialista en las categorías absoluta y sub-17, Japón se coronó hoy campeona del mundo sub-20, el título que faltaba en sus vitrinas. Las Nadeshiko ganaron la Copa Mundial Femenina de la FIFA en 2011 y, curiosamente, también lo hicieron después de eliminar a Alemania en cuartos de final. Por su parte, el combinado sub-17 se proclamó campeón del mundo en Costa Rica 2014 tras derrotar en la final nada menos que a la propia España. Japón se convierte así en el único país que ha conquistado el título mundialista en las tres categorías existentes en el fútbol femenino.

“Ha sido un partido muy difícil. El equipo se mostró bastante prudente en la primera parte. Marcar primero nos dio tranquilidad, pero quizás hizo también que nos confiásemos en exceso y que dejásemos de hacer las cosas que nos habían traído hasta aquí. Francia fue superior en la segunda parte y quizá les regalamos un poco el control del partido. Afrontamos la tanda de penales con confianza. Llevábamos dos años preparándonos para esto y teníamos ganas de que llegase el momento. Lo hemos conseguido y el mérito es de las jugadoras”.
